Surgery Recovery Video Game Challenge

On Monday I had a breast reduction surgery, so to tithe me over while I recover I will do two things: describe my experiences with having the surgery (the not so fun but still interesting part), and beat all the PS3 games I either need to replay because they have a new DLC out, or I got the bad ending last time, or play because I’ve never played them.  Once I am done those games, I shall review them.  So, here’s the list:

1. Dragonage Origins (including Awakening)
2. Dragonage 2
3. Assassin’s Creed 3
4. Mass Effect 2
5. Mass Effect 3
6. Knight’s Contract
7. Catherine
8. Sleeping Dogs
9. Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction
10. Ratchet and Clank Future: A Crack in Time
11. Brutal Legend
12.  Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch
13.  Dead Space
14.  L.A.I.R.
15.  inFAMOUS
16. inFAMOUS 2
17.  Golden Axe
18.  Singularity
19.  Folklore
20.  MLB Front Office
21.  The Bigs
22. Batman: Arkham Asylum
23. Batman: Arkham City
24.  Mirror’s Edge
25.  Oblivion
26.  Shadows of the Damned
27.  Chronicles of Riddick
28.  Resident Evil 5
29. Resident Evil 6
30.  Bayonetta

As you can see, this is a very lengthy list.  Here are the rules:

1.  All games will be played on easy mode so I can beat them within a reasonable amount of time (also because I only really play games for their story anyways), unless easy is too easy (like in the case of Mass Effect).
2.  I must give the game a minimum of 5 hours before I quit it.  I can only quit it if it’s really bad, or really long and repetitive (like Oblivion).
3.  These games will be played in this order, no exceptions.
4.  I will not purchase any new games until these are all beaten.
5. Before I start the new game I must write the review (which will be a shot as a video review in the future when I feel better).
6.  And last, but not least, if I don’t finish this list before I get the stitches out, that doesn’t mean I won’t finish the list.  It just means I recovered faster than I thought.  :D

So let the games begin!

All I could think of when I was watching this was “Holy shit that music is from Tron Legacy?” Awesome! It’s weird how well it fits considering the two subject matters are so different. Also, I am sooooooo stoked for season 3!!!

Jack the Giant Slayer Vlog Review

The costumes make my eyes hurt. It would be better if all the actors were just wearing street clothes. Or nothing at all ;)

Some fun stuff from my graphic design class.

First off is my favorite of the bunch, a graphical poster of Liam McIntyre as Spartacus.  What I love about this is how the main content, the word, is solid and geometric and only the red background, but the inside of the words is of course Spartacus's face, and that adds a ton of texture to the image.  I'd actually like to print this out.

I mad a dragon out of a quote.  'Nuff said.

And Connor looking epic with a quote.

Emerald City Comicon Pics!

So I met a bunch of awesome cosplayers at Emerald City Comicon this saturday, so I decided to take pictures! These are the ones that turned out the best from my not so awesome iPod touch camera.

First off, my favorite pic of the day, a big old group shot of people cosplaying my favorite comic, X-Men!

Bender from Futurama!  This dude did an amazing job making a mascot style costume.

I'm not a huge fan of Superman in the comics, but I do love the old movies from the 70s.  I'm also looking forward to Man of Steel because so many of my favorite actors in it, namely Henry Cavill as Superman/ Clark Kent and Kevin Costner as his earth dad.  First guy is Man of Steel Superman, and second guy is Classic Superman.  His girlfriend was Wonderwoman ;).

Looks like I'm not the only one who loves current TV!  Rick from Walking Dead, and Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones.  Dany is particularly cute with her dragon stuffy.

2012 was the year of the comic book movies, and here are some more awesome cosplays to celebrate that!  Hawkeye and Black Widdow (squee!) from The Avengers, and Judge Dredd from, well, Dredd.

Khajit from Skyrim, and dude (I have no idea what he is) from World of Warcraft.  I honestly thought the dude from Skyrim was from Thundercats, despite never having seen Thundercats and being a fan of Skyrim (let's call that a blonde moment).  I took the pic of the dude from WoW because it's an awesome cosplay.

And finally, my sister and her friend as Sherlock and Moriarty from BBC's Sherlock, pretending to be dead while waiting for pictures to be developed.

Check back in a couple days and I will have video from the con as well!
